before there was diego, now it's thomas

no, i didn't replace aishi for these two boys - if you can call them that.

my kids are the ones who had a let's say, kiddie obsession with them. it all started with diego. kyle would throw a mini tantrum if he didn't see diego on tv. but here's the thing, he wakes up at around 830 or 9 and diego doesn't come on in nick junior until 930. so we had to distract him with other cartoons until he can watch diego in peace. heck, with the diego obsession, we even bought him a diego doll as a xmas present, which was by the way rewarded with a big smile. and did i mention keon was 100 times happier than he is when he saw that doll?

and then one day, it was all over with diego.

and thomas comes into the picture. i vaguely remember that when my brothers were still littler we were able to watch this and up to now it has been quite popular with my kids and their generation! and it even makes my dad super happy because the storyteller is ringo starr (of this band named the BEATLES no less!)

and now another obsession begins. we got the toys, the dvd and even watching in youtube every single day. and kyle has even taken to memorize the engine roll call. while keon, with limited speaking skills, is happily content with bouncing up and down when the credits roll. but during the show, i've got 2 behaved angles for around 20 mins. and the kids don't like being bothered while watching. but it does makes a good companion when we have to feed kyle.

oh, before diego and thomas, there was lightning mcqueen too and mater!!

hahaha

this paid blogging thing and paypal

can someone please shed some light on this? seems appealing to me but i'm still in the dark on how to go about it.

i'm concerned about the pay per post/paid blogging thing and how you can get the payments thru paypal considering that paypal philippines can now accept payments (if that's the correct term) and you can withdraw it through a local bank.

help please?

a little extra income would really help.

email me na lang oki? :D

back from hiding... again

finally had time to blog and really monopolize the internet connection and really call it my own. (well technically since having my own pc and cubicle already - more on that later).

just a little snippet of update before i head on home since my little boy keon's celebrating his first birthday today. but we'll have the grand celebration on saturday.

> been a working mom again for a good week already in one of the jobs i have been dreaming about before. and i'm really happy here. more relaxed, and from the looks of it, people motivate you well here and let's you do your own thing. really i have been raving the whole week. hence, the reason why i can go back to blogging again. but i don't think i can post pics as often as before though but that can be arranged when i do get my turn going online at home.

> mom's retired from the job she's been doing for more than 30 years. and from the looks of it she's quite happy with the decision. (and thank god i won't get to spend time with her almost everyday and being asked to clean clean clean. it does get tiring really to be asked to clean the same thing everyday. spending time with her and her grandkids on weekdays are good for me. hehehe but don't get me wrong, i love my mom to bits along with all the nagging and stuff, i think i should know now, i bet i'll go through that when my two boys grow up. hahaha

> still trying to move forward with the jewelries thing, although i don't have time to drop by quiapo to buy more stuff that i used up. i miss quiapo...

> and i'm overflowing with excitement that incubus will be here. the only dilemma now is where to get the moolah to pay for the tickets. anyone care to sponsor me some? hehehe

anyway, i'm off to go home and be with my kids.

more updates in the coming days... i hope..

new year, new life, new journeys

so 2008 has begun and honestly i still have no clue what will happen this year. will there be the same drama, conflicts and stress that i went through last year or will this be the clean slate i have been waiting for?

i have read a lot of blogs and they've listed their resolutions and wishes and i thought why not go with the flow and make one too?

what have i been thankful for 2007?
> my kids are healthy and happy even after the high fevers, colds and crying spells, they come out more happy and better.
> that aishi and i still get by one day at a time even if he's the sole breadwinner, for now.
> that my family's doing ok and there's nothing to complain about.
> that some of the things i wished for, came true, in their own time.

what do i wish for this 2008?
> health, wealth and happiness - the usual :)
> that we (aishi and i) remain the good parents that we are with our two boys.
> that my two boys grow up to be the gentlemen that i am wishing they would be and still remain as my babies forever.
> that we maintain the friendships that we have and create new ones that are worth keeping, and not use them as merely connections to get what we want. we create friendships for friends and not contacts.
> materially, i/we wish that we could start purchasing our own things that in the future when we move into our new homes, there's something to put in and not just the kid's toys. :)
> that our dreams of migrating to someplace much better than here - for the kid's future. (i'm seriously losing hope in our country... sad)
> that mama and dada grow old until their golden years, just like lola honey so that they could see their great grandkids too.
> that my 2 bros would get on the path that they want to pursue.
> and that this business thing, should it be really for me would be fruitful. extra income does help nowadays.

my resolutions for 2008
> get off the couch and start going to the gym.
> try making time to go to the gym.
> save up for the kid's education
> move forward with my business
> document more the kid's moments and milestones and moments with good friends
> take care of my teeth better now that i'm metal-free!! finally!!
> get insurance for the kids, aishi and me and the family.
> lessen procrastination
> to finally really overcome being shy. (yes, i really am shy. i just use humor to mask it. hehehe)
> to not really believe in horoscopes and fortune tellers.
> not be afraid to say no or i can't.

i still have 11 more months to keep this list updated, but more or less these are the things that are important to me.

happy new year!!!

~~~~
i won't be uploading as much pictures like before, but if you want to view the pics, hop on over to my multiply page, to be really updated on what's happening with me, the kids and aishi. :)
one thing off my wishlist
just happy that after all the wishing, and waiting i finally got it. technically it's not mine but for the whole family.
finally got our own digicam!! (see post re: wishlist) i love our cam!! i'm thinking of a good name to call it to make it really personal.
no more excuses that i don't have enough pics of the kids. time to exploit them while they're young hehehe and when they grow up they can cringe and be embarrassed when they see their pics. (time to get even? i went through that too and with 4 big albums to prove it. haha)
i'm happy at least there's one thing off my wishlist. :)
hey i'm still here!!! miss blogging about my life and kids, but it's much better being with the kids everyday than blogging and being online.
i guess i'm making up for those times that i got home late and the kids are sleeping.
but i sure have a lot to blog about but i can't guarantee that i'll be blogging about the past. i'd rather not dwell on those anymore since i've moved on and i'd prefer to blog about what's going on right now.
my kids are growing up everyday. kyle can now converse in sentences with a little sprinkle of gibberish. keon can now call out if he wants attention and he knows what he wants.
back to making those jewelries again, but haven't started selling them. have to go back to quiapo for more. all i got left now are beads and i've got tons of ideas for them. ple, sama ka ha? :D
friends!!! i miss you!! send some love, text, email, etc. (although at the moment, i can't text back, forgot to pay the bill. hehehe - that's what i get for spending a lot of time with the kids that i get to forget other adult "responsibilities"
anyway, back to mommy duties.
hibernation
indeed i was. a lot has transpired the past few weeks that i didn't get to blog about it at all. there were good days, there were worse days but those worse days, amazingly turned for the best. god does work really sneaky. and yes i am happy that he snuck up on me or else i would be, let's just say, blinded and "tainted" by what's around me. and with a big sigh of relief, i say: THANK GOD!!
i'm not going to dwell into all the details that transpired, it's all water under the bridge for me, but for sure, someone i know still has a very big stick stuck up where the sun don't shine. if that makes you happy, then fine, i'm not going to be part of that, not at all. i have principles you know. let's just see what happens after.
or... maybe one day when i'm in my ranting mode, i'll spill all the beans and see who gets to react about it! yeah! that would be fun!! hahahaha
but for now, i'm staying positive because i'm with people who are far better human beings than others. so there.
sometimes i believe in horoscopes
The Bottom Line
Your engine is all revved up, but there's no place to go today. Expect no progress.
In Detail
Your engine is all revved up, but there's really no place for you to go today ... all projects are moving forward nicely, and the people in your life are doing well. There will be no frantic phone calls or calls for your sage advice. So what to do with all this energy and time? Spend it on yourself! This is a great day to go off on your own and do whatever makes you feel connected to the world. If the weather permits, take a nice long walk -- and bring along some of your favorite music.
most definitely, people in my life are doing well. i'm glad. :)
~~
and i may not say this often verbally, but aishi, thank you for not being judgemental. even if i do bash you here in my blog. you don't get mad, still talk to me and still be the nicest person. thank you for understanding and being a person. and with this i gain new confidence to continue writing, because you and the kids are all that matter...
chick lit
eversince i hung out one time at powerbooks and read the book, i was hooked. and now i can't wait to get all the copies. i miss buying books
and now it's a tv series! hehe
i heart Gossip Girl.
this is not another stardust movie review
because everybody who watched has already blogged about the movie and what they thought of it. i mean, any neil gaiman fan would say they loved the book and read it a million times like i did and loved the movie considering there were a few scenes in the book not included in the movie and some characters weren't there.
so no, i'm not going to do that. and i'm no film critic. i'm just going to put in what i liked:
>personally, i think someone could play a much better role of yvaine than claire danes. and no, i'm not harboring any ill feelings toward her behavior about us pinoys.
>robert de niro is to die for!! a really different twist to cap'n shakespeare. ahlavet!!
>michelle pfeiffer = hot! now that's the way to age. one hot/smoking witch!
>did you notice rupert everett there? he's one of the 7 brothers.
>sir ian mckellen as the narrator. perfect!
>tristran looked way cuter when his hair got styled by mr. de niro
overall, i had a blast watching the movie. even aishi, who i've been pressuring to read the book loved the movie. although he still won't read the book.
i also found the song/vid of the song that was playing when the credits were rolling. and it was a surprise. buhay pa pala ang take that! hahaha boy band moments ito. hahaha
The song while the credits roll
rambling again
thank god for music to calm me down...
i thought i was going to have the greatest day, but then come afternoon it just went pffft. just like that.
but as they say, there's always a silver lining. i just have to go find it hiding among the clouds.
~
i just can't keep all my feelings bottled up inside me. where else can i vent out but here in my blog. does that make me a bad person?
i'm not pleasing anybody here because this is my blog. i didn't make this blog to be popular and talked about, i just wanted a venue to let out my feelings and thoughts. because before i kept it all inside and where did i end up? more sad, depressed and destructive, when i write what i feel, after publishing my entry, i'm ok. i can breathe. i am free.
if that makes me less of a person. then fine. i never asked to be judged.
if anyone got beef, not my problem.
~
there is such a thing as freedom of speech. ask kuya k. :)
ramblings
your stupid mouth will get you in trouble.
and no it's not for me. majority of the time i think before i speak. sorry na lang kung ang masabi ko eh masakit.
deal with it. what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
i'm a woman with balls - figuratively.
ranting... again
so, let me see... where do i begin?
you (referring to me - hehe labo) did something in the hopes that in some way or another would get noticed or even recognized for the person concerned but it was acknowledged by the other person.
does this mean, this person's not doing anything at all? or just ignoring this thing i did?
who's at fault here? me, the person who did something or this someone who didn't do anything?
makes you really think that there's something going on that i'm not part of or not being included in. and this should be team effort! the upside here would be all the blame will be on this someone and not on me and the other person i'm with. if and if the blame gets to us too, all hell would break loose. really.
oh, and the backbiting and false stories that are being made right this minute. once you hear the stories you'll hate this someone too.
(ple, remind me to make you kwento about this. as usual it's about D.B. bwahahahaha!! )
bato bato sa langit...
ang mag react... guilty!
turning 26
I meant to write about what happened when I celebrated my 26th birthday but I was caught up with a lot of things that I totally forgot. And well, I didn’t have time to capture it all in pictures. But I’m not complaining. As long as I got to share it with close and new found friends. I am happy.
As incubus said in one of their songs: “and in this moment, I am happy
And I am.
It may be a big deal for me to turn 26, when I have been very vocal to my friends that I’ll forever remain a 25 year old. I don’t know, maybe I might change my mind along the way and embrace my age.
Why 25 then? I think this is the peak of my existence, where I could do what I want and not being bound by my parents telling me what to do and what not to do. I have a family of my own where my kids are like my playmates, I could still run after them, be a kid like them, really understand what they like and dislike, in a way, know where they are coming from. This is the age where I am really enjoying the money I am earning and sharing it with the people I believe deserve to share what I have. And at 25 I’ve learned a lot.
So I guess there’s no difference in turning 26. Age is just a number. I just chose to stick to the number I like best.
~
I celebrated my birthday a Saturday, sept. 30 a few days before my birthday which fell on a Monday. I invited the usual people – the boys and their gilrs (4L) minus franco and cj. Of course my bestfriend was present, kerol and her hubby bogart, and the officemates I usually hang out with.
The house was packed with the people who came. Aishi prepared his ever famous chili con, hotdog pulutan and some chips. The guests were happy. Booze were overflowing (4 cases of beer methinks and rhum coke for me and ple).
The party ended around 430am. We didn’t even realize that it was that late with all the jokes, chismis, stories. The last people standing were ple and my officemates.
I may not remember all the details and other preps for the party but all I could have in my memories that these people made m birthday really special. I feel loved.
I may not receive any gifts, but isn’t being with the people you love and who love you back, worth more than all the material things you ever wished for?
And of course, aishi was there to make it all the more special. My aishi really took care of me and the preps. Really, what more could I ask for?
I'm going to sit here and wait for what 27 will bring. will you be there when i turn 27?
update: uploaded some pics during my birthday in my multiply
milestones and the art of parenting
my two boys are indeed growing up. each day that i get home from work, i see them doing something new. and it makes my heart burst with so much pride and happiness.
last night, keon was in his crib, the moment he saw us enter the house, he was beaming and babbling. he immediately turned over on his tummy and crawled toward the net of his crib. we were cheering him on for rolling over but i guess his "show" wasn't over, he wen into a kneeling position and tried with his little hands to stand up. and he did! realizing that he was able to do something new, he was laughing and making squealing sounds. he finally stood up last night, with no help at all. at 8 months! amazing!
although he hasn't mastered sitting down, but i guess he's more happy standing up and being mobile when he's in his walker. he could explore his little world.
and where is kyle when this happened? he was cheering his little brother on for his new achievement. i swear these two boys will grow up with a good brother relationship.
oh but the story didn't end there...
kuya kyle was on his cranky moods again and with the constant "no's" with every word.
while his dada was lying on the sofa, tired after a day's work, out of nowhere, kyle threw this mini table thingy which almost hit aishi on his foot. of course i had to reprimand him for his bad behavior that i asked him to apologize to his dada and he'll stay in his corner for some time-out. of course, he didn't apologize, maybe out of pride but he still had to serve time in his corner which he did for about 30 seconds. i talked to him in my clamest voice that what he did was not nice and that he had to say sorry to dada.
i guess what he did sunk in and he was quite hesitant to approach his dad and say sorry. so i just told him to sit beside his dada and just hug him. aishi on the other hand, told him that he did was bad and he almost got hurt, after that he told kyle that he still loves him and he hugged kyle. and then dada and son are friends again.
i'm just happy that when we do reprimand kyle, we don't have to resort to spanking. he's more cooperative when we talk to him. and at a young age, i think he can already understand. but of course, there are and there will be a few lapses along the way because they're still kids and we have to endure another round of disciplinary actions when keon's older.
and the journey to parenthood is still a long road to travel.
i'm just happy i'm not alone and i have aishi with me on this journey. :)
