going out with kyle

had a great time with kyle last sunday. truly a family outing! we first heard mass and my little bututuy was fast asleep. but in the middle of the ceremony, he suddenly woke up and was surprised seeing a lot of people. in short medyo nawindang siya. haha. but he was well behaved inside the church. unlike some older kids there. hmph! to think they're with their parents... tsk tsk.

after the mass we decided to do some grocey shopping in puregold. as usual, kyle was his behaved self. he loved riding the trolley. we first placed him inside the trolley, but he got tired and the groceries were piling up. so i placed him in the kid thingy. i was a bit scared that he might not be able to hold himself up properly since he's still mastering his balance. surprisingly, he did a good job! i was so proud! at 6 months and 3 weeks, he can hold himself up!

we got home around 730 and had dinner at home. my parents and younger brothers were still out, so we had the house all to ourselves. in order for us to eat our dinner, i placed kyle on his stoller. gave him his milk, since he was hungry from all the things we did. while drinking his milk, he was grunting and making his "brrr" sounds. i thought he was just happy with his milk, but little did we know, he was making a little surprise in his diaper! this went on for a good 5 mins and after that he was happy again. so being the mommy that i am, i checked and yup, there were a LOT of surprises! halfway through our dinner we had no choice but to clean him up. never let kyle wait while he has poo in his diaper. he's going to be one fussy baby boy. haha.

after the clean up, he was one sleepy baby boy. haha and we got to finish our dinner.

too bad i wans't able to take pictures of our adventures. hopefully if the budget permits us, we'll buy our own camera.. there are too many kyle moments that shouldn't be missed. soon, when i get my hands on that sony dsc-t5 cybershot camera! hahaha

camera whoring... todo na to!!!

in the spirit of reminiscing our highschool days

a few weeks ago, ple and i were hanging out in starbucks during one of our coffee break/lunch break sessions and we got to reminisce our highschool days...

though we are not proud to say that we WERE once caught under the spell of the boyband phenomenon, it's good to go back and remember the days when we were head over heels crazy. of course i will spare you dear readers of all the bloody gory details of this once crazy roller coaster ride.

we (toxic nips) were head over heels over British Boybands. No Backstreet Boys, no Nsync... we were strictly for british and a few aussies too. so, some of these boybands may not be familiar to you guys. but then, it's still embarassing man! haha

keh:
she was the one who deviated from the brit boys. and the only member in our barkada who loooved... ta da!! HANSON! (keh, if ever you are reading this, i'm sure you won't hate me, you are sooo over them.. right? =D

jandy:
she was the one smitten with code red. although, we have no idea what their names are now! haha

ple:
the other one who deviated from the brit boys. she was one of those who bought all the cds, the vcd, even asked me to tape all 3 versions of their music video. and one of my partner in crime in buying magazines to "save" their posters and articles in a clear book! and the lucky boyband is... SAVAGE GARDEN!!

ple and i also shared the same love for another aussie boyband... HUMAN NATURE. by far they were they boyband that had real voices and when the sang, blended perfectly..

dolly:
no one could forget her love for TAKE THAT. but she was more on the alternative side (oasis, blur etc) and we both share the same passion for MANCHESTER UNITED. when ryan giggs was still there, when the best goalie was schmichael (sp), and when MAN U was the best football club ever!

of course not being outdone, and last but not the least, me. HAHAHA
a little background, before the boybands,i was "smitten" if that's the correct term to use, with one british performer. some of you may not know him, some of you may do. in a way, he was a one hit wonder, but in the UK, there came a time that he was hot and was even linked to Mel C of the spice girls, (hah! bet you guys didn't know that!) hehe anyway, he was KAVANA.. (eeewww! yah, i hear the squirms and imagine the yucky face, but yeah, i likED him. then.)

(ple, does this bring back some memories? haha)

(now that is the most gay picture that i have ever seen of kavana!! hahahaha)

but... it does not stop there, i said i had a kavana phase? this is the big kahuna of it all... ladies and gentlemen, i admit. i was once a die hard fan of... 911!!

(i remember i had that same poster in my room before and the tape stains on my wall are the proof.)

by the way, this is 911 now... (i was inspired to look them up and surprisingly, they are still active in the business)

excluding roscel the hard core rocker, so she's spared from the boyband fever. and stella, who was not affected at all with the craziness and madness.

and that ladies and gentlemen, my dear readers, i have tortured you long enough. i think you guys need a breather. this blog entry is done.

p.s:
ple, if you are reading this. wala talaga tayong lusot. isa-isa tayo.. pero there's still anonymity. how would they know your real names? in short ako lang ang nagbenta sa sarili ko. hahaha still can't find any ultra pictures... hehehe

sheesh ang babaw mo ha...

this happened a few minutes ago.

one of my office mates informed me that i had a message on my fone. my fone was being charged 4 cubicles away from me and on silent mode. (this is an office so a little respect to others right?)

so i saw that aishi was calling.

he got mad. raised his voice a bit. telling me why i didn't answer his call. i told him i was busy and had no time to check.

i admit my mistake. but what irked me was the fact he said it was like he wasn't the type who doesn't answer calls/texts. hell, mas malala naman siya compared to me. imagine sending a few text messages before you get a reply. come on.. same thing with calls... bottom line, you don't get to reply.

para kasing pinapalabas nya na nde nya ginagawa yun eh. nagmamalinis ba. ewan ko. nakakapikon lang talaga.

i didn't ask him to come and fetch me early. i told him to drop by 630. he's 30 mins. ahead.

i really don't want to fight, but from the looks of it... we'll fight about it.

this is really stressing me out.

i guess i have to wear the seatbelt on the way home. i'm in for a very fast ride home...

sheesh... this is too petty man.

Can't wait for March!!

it's still a long wait, but i'm overflowing with excitement!! after so many years, i'll finally come back... to BORA!!! the last time i was there, i was like 2nd year Highschool, so imagine the longing i had over countless summers that passed.

and now the opportunity is here!!

i can't wait!! and i get to spend it with my good friends. minus the hassle of being with your parents and siblings. haha

and i get to be at the beach with my hubby and best friend!!

but, i'll surely miss kyle for a good 4 days. he's still to young too enjoy the beach. soon kyle, my little boy. you'll be a beach lover like mommy and daddy. =D next year, when you're older.

yey!!! this is the reason why i love summer... BEACHES!!! White sand. Good Friends. Good Times. Great Drinks!

see you in bora in March!

sigh...

i have so much things to write about, but i just don't have the time to do so. i've been swamped with work, papers and proposals. things are not the same as before where i have the time to blog, chat with friends etc. now, everything's different.. i couldn't even have a decent yosi break during work. the only time i can smoke is during lunch where i have 1 hour to spare before being swamped again.

i sure hope to update my blog with something more meaningful..

i'm a what?...

You Are a Tomboy

You're having too much fun to bother with nail polish and crazy diets.
Guys are instead impressed by how much you know and do!

hahaha... really now?

What a weekend!!

it was a fun weekend, not the usual boring weekend that i always have at home. i was able to enjoy friday, saturday and sunday.

friday...
after work, met up with aishi and cj in sidebar for a couple of drinks, actually they were the ones drinking and i was the one eating. earlier that day, colby and i were planning to drink at my place with her cousins. we stayed for a while at sidebar while colby was in podium with some of her friends. she was also waiting for her cousins to reply if they could make it at our place. we left sidebar at around 9ish after bringing cj home, coz he said he's tired already and wanted some good ol home massage service. hehe. so off we went for home and to more drinking...

when we arrived home we were surprised to see that my younger brother geoff was already drinking with his bestfriend koko. and to the sheer and utter delight of my husband. i let them start the session first since i have to take care of kyle put him to sleep. aishi, colby, her 2 cousins, geoff and koko. were outside drinking and sharing a few laughs. by 1130 or so, it was my turn. tanduay and coke, here i come! haha. around 12-1230 i think the san mig light ran out. koko left for home since he wasn't allowed to spend the night at our place. the 2 cousins stopped drinking. so it was colby and i who finished off 1.5 litre of coke and tanduay.

we talked about almost anything and everything. we reminisced the best tv shows when we were kids. shaider, takeshi's castle, transformers, bioman... we totally forgot about the time and it was almost a quarter to 4 when we finished. i woke up aishi who was sleeping on the sofa to take them home.

and i was pretty much wasted after that. that once i felt my body land on our bed. i was out cold. hehe good thing kyle sleeps like a log just like his daddy, and mommy when wasted. haha

saturday...

i decided to for once hear mass with my family in glorietta just like we used to before i gave birth to kyle. that saturday, my highschool barkada planned a dinner get together at fridays to welcome back twink who came back from NY. it was a bit surprising though since we just knew she was in manila when she sent us an email. so instantly colby and i pleaded our group to have a get together again since we have not seen each other for a long time. the last time i saw keh and jandy was during kyle's baptism. roscel, it has been a long time really and i can't remember when was the last time i saw her. plus dolly also, so you wouldn't know how much i miss these girls.

so after the mass, tagging along kyle and his posh stroller, off we went to fridays. sadly, only the 4 of us, keh, colby, me and twink showed up. roscel had a teambuilding thing at work, dolly was busy studying for her exams (the future doctor), and jandy was the usual missing member. we honestly have no idea what is happening with her. we even sent her texts asking her to join us but not one of us got a reply. too bad.

i wasn't my usual chika self that night since i was busy handling kyle and eating at the same time. he's becoming a bit of a handful. he was also happy he got out of the house and amazed to see lots of people and bright lights. i had a bit of trouble putting him to sleep so i asked aishi to help me. he was with us along with cj during our get together dinner. i'm sure they enjoyed playing and having fun with kyle while i was struggling to catch up with my friends.

earlier that day, we recieved news that my sister in law, ate nina was confined in the hospital because the fliud inside her tummy is awfully low to support the baby. they went to the hospital to have the gender of the baby known, and this is what she got and the bad news was the next day was her birthday. it's a bit boggling since she's really careful with her pregnancy and this happened to her. so now she's required to have complete bed rest until she gives birth. and this is under strict orders of her OB, i'm sure. so all my prayers go to her and her baby boy who has yet to be named.

sunday..

anonther lamon session with the ibasco clan. mama planned another get together at our house to welcome her first cousin and my ninang from canada who has not visited the Philippines for a long time. actually this would be the first time that i would ever see my ninang, the last time was obviously my baptism.

it was a fun afternoon, the whole house was alive with chatter and laughter. but as usual i was usually stuck upstairs taking care of kyle since he was in an awful mood and everytime he's being carried by my aunts and uncles he just cries his liitle eyes out. so mother and child is stuck upstaris away from the people. so the best thing that we did and we do best is sleep. haha. it was in fact a sunday afternoon. and we both woke up just in time to watch the buzz. and of course the relatives are still there. my ninang left around 9 in the evening and my parents were jsut soo tired after. to think they have to go to work the next day.

and that was one hectic fun filled weekend.

back to the old blog template

due to some complaints that my blog could not be seen properly in some browsers, i've reverted back to the old blog template i had and made a few color changes. i tried my best to make it more view friendly using mozilla firefox, but it seems it's still blah. at least now you can see the entries minus a few "irregularities" in the tables. maarte kasi ang firefox. oh well.

so much for the new year new look thing...

so much for change...

since it's not perfect, it's better to view my blog using internet explorer. still learning on how to view my blog properly using mozilla firefox.

enjoy the new blog. hehehehe

cheers!

happy new year!

here's to the new year

so much has happened the past year. some are wished to be forgotten, some to be kept forever in memories. i may not have the best memory, some may have been archived deep in my subconscious that they only resurface when triggered by certain words, events, even scents. but i'll try to summarize what 2005 was for me,
looking back...

january 2005
a new chapter in my life has begun. aishi and i are now married. was blessed with an angel that was born in july. jan. 4, was the first night aishi and i slept together as husband and wife. we started to plan out what things to buy for our room and for the baby. jan 15, heard kyle's heartbeat for the first time. an amazing and unexplainable experience. i couldn't help myself from crying when i heard it. sadly, aishi was not able to hear it. from that moment, i knew i was really going to be a mom...

february 2005
second month of the year... what's in store? still pregnant. happy with my aishi and our friends. feb 5, our first family picture... my family plus aishi. feb 17, celebrated our 2nd year anniversary. feb 18, felt kyle move for the first time in my tummy! imagine our joy and happiness!! still working, updated my status from single to married. still the same at work. feb 24, barkada trip to bicol until the end of feb. a happy pregnant me, the beach, the sand, the sun... truly stress-free!!

march 2005
mar 1, celebrated aishi's birthday. went shopping for maternity clothes, i was literally growing bigger by the day and my normal clothes don't fit me anymore. had a few "turbulent" days in march where aishi and i had agruments which ended with me sleeping alone in our bed and him coming home late. in retrospect, it was a bit foolish, and now i understand that it was just the hormones kicking in that time and i was craving his attention, being pregnant and all. started to prepare my things for the big day in july.

april 2005
was still shopping for kyle's things. this was by far the most boring month for the year. not only it was damn hot because it's summer, it's 2x for a pregnant woman. i was still the working woman that i am. i was still going out and meeting clients in all my pregnant glory. plus points since i get extra special treatment when it comes to elevators and even getting taxi cabs! i just hope it worked that way when it comes to getting more clients. haha.

may 2005
another boring summer month for a then 7 month pregnant woman. everything was going smoothly for me and aishi and our families. there were ups and downs, arguments and making up. food trips, pigging out. and i have missed the real taste of coffee for the past 7 months.

june 2005
experienced tummy aches and cramps and i knew i'm in for the long haul of labor. looking back i wasn't scared. maybe because i have been watching one too many documentaries about childbirth and pregnancy that the thought itself did not scare me at all. i was aware of the unbearable pain, literally, the blood sweat and tears that would go with labor and giving birth to this child. the check-ups were now weekly. hell, i was due anytime by next month. had bouts of false alarms that i had been more present at home than at work. june 28, kuya vincent and ate nina got married.

july 2005
this is it!! anytime soon. the waiting game would be over. into the 2 weeks of the month, i was still at work. follwing up contracts, proposals and what nots. i had planned to go on maternity leave sometime 3rd week of july, i was due on the end of july, actually july 29. but then i changed my mind and filed for leave on july 13. unkowingly that i will give birth that same day. (refer to my birthing story from my archives). from that day on, everything changed around me. i suddenly had something to think about other than myself and aishi. for the first weeks kyle was home. everyone was walking on eggshells. everyone had been really careful. and everything has been amazing. had a few rough roads when we learned that kyle tested positive for one of the diseases from the newborn screening. that was a big burden for me, i prayed every waking moment that he will be ok and the test was not accurate. thank god for the retest and he came out just fine and normal.

august 2005
kyle's first month! going back to work was not on my mind that time. i was busy taking care of my baby that it seemed like i didn't leave any work behind. i was contemplating of going back but knowing the current situation that we are in financially, devoting my time 100% to kyle would be hard. so i took on the role of being the working mom.

september 2005
went back to work. found things at work to be a bit shocking. i had a hard time catching up with with happened in my absence for 2 months. friendships and bonds were formed. people came and went. things changed without me. i changed without them. i was glad that i had my bestfriend 4 floors down who was there to talk to and be the same person that she was. bonding with her through coffee and talking about anything and everything was the best stress reliever. she took away the worries that things would never be the same. but when i'm with her, i know, not everything will change.

october 2005
kyle's baptism and my birthday shebang in one! watching kyle grow up by the day was truly amazing. he's slowly becoming into a big boy and maturing before my very eyes. everything that he does, his little discoveries. the first smile, the first silent laugh, his amazement when he sees his toys. was a bit of a down month. it's really hard when you see your child get sick and no matter what you do, any effort you exert, it seems that nothing is happening to make him better. i kept on praying to god to give kyle's fever and colds to me so that he won't suffer anymore. but being the kind god that he is, he made sure that everything will be all right and he's with us all the way. ]

november 2005
a month to go before the year ends... still watching kyle discover things on his own. explore his little world. had another turbulent moment with kyle again, that moment took us to the hospital, and the experience of being rushed to the emergency room. it felt like my worl fell apart seeing kyle so helpless and tired. again i asked god to give kyle's pain to me. and amazingly, in the following days, kyle became better and from thereon, he stopped having fevers and colds and cough (knock on wood). on a happier and more personal note, the quest began for the 2006 starbucks panner. my own personal mission to complete. having coffee and bonding with my bestfriend is truly priceless.. she was there when i was down and out and hopeless. she was my anchor

december 2005
our baby boy's first christmas. our first family picture. kyle's first solo picture. kyle's first laugh. kyle's first crawl. everything that happened was focused on kyle. he has been the center of our lives. one of the best months i had for this year.

looking back, no matter how depressing life has been for me and for the people around me. there were still those precious moments, nuggets of wisdom, experiences learned, mistakes made that one way or another helped in making us more human and stronger. i can't wait what this year would hold for me, my famliy, and my friends...
here's to 2006 and to the future!
